本源 / The Origin

一生伏首拜阳明。

知行合一。

无善无恶心之体，

有善有恶意之动。

知善知恶是良知，

为善去恶是格物。

君子之学，

莫若廓然大公，

物来而顺应。

本源：

心即性，性即天。

心外无物，心外无理。

致良知。

随时就事上致其良知，

便是格物。

在天地之间，

原本仅有这个性，

仅有这个理，

仅有这良知，

仅有这件事。

The Origin

Written in 2014

All my life, I bow before Wang Yangming —

Unity of knowledge and action.

The heart itself holds no good or evil;

Good and evil arise only in intent.

To know good and evil is innate conscience;

To act upon that knowing is true inquiry.

The noble person learns to be open and impartial,

Responding naturally to whatever comes.

The source:

The mind is nature; nature is Heaven.

Outside the mind, there is nothing.

Outside the mind, there is no principle.

To extend one’s conscience—

To act upon that conscience in each moment,

That is the true investigation of things.

Between Heaven and Earth,

there exists only this nature,

only this principle,

only this conscience,

only this matter at hand.
